Principal: Mrs.Karen Kuntzman
Mrs. Kuntzman
I am very excited to be the new principal at Stonington this year!  I've been very lucky to have been a part of the Taylorville Schools throughout my life as a student, teacher, parent and now administrator.  Although I may be a new face to the parents, I know the students and teachers
quite well through my most recent job as Technology Integration Specialist.  I'm also quite familiar with the village of Stonington, because my dad was a Stonington resident for many years, having graduated from Stonington High School and helping with the family farm for years after his graduation!

I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, students and parents as we embark on the 2018-19 school year.   It is my hope that we will all work as a team to offer a well rounded education for the students at Stonington elementary.  I am excited to meet all of you and work together to have a successful school year!

I graduated from Taylorville High School and went to Millikin University for my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  In 2010 I earned a Master's in Teacher Leadership from the University of Illinois in Springfield and in 2015 I completed my administrative certification at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.  I have taught grades 1, 2, 3, and 5 along with technology.

I am married to Chris, who is the technology coordinator for Taylorville Schools, and we have two children.  Our son Kyle is a junior at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville majoring in Mass Communications, and our daughter Karlee is a freshman at the University of Iowa majoring in Biomedical Engineering.  We love to travel and we enjoy our two basset hounds, Lady and Stella.
